What Is LATISSE?

LATISSE® is an FDA-approved treatment designed to enhance the length, thickness, and darkness of your eyelashes. Available at VISAGE Clinic in Toronto, LATISSE® is a topical solution that is applied daily to the base of your upper eyelashes. The active ingredient in LATISSE®, bimatoprost, works by extending the growth phase of your eyelashes and increasing the number of hairs that grow.

LATISSE® is ideal for individuals with sparse, short, or thin eyelashes who desire a more dramatic and natural look. The treatment is easy to incorporate into your nightly routine and typically shows noticeable results within 8 to 12 weeks, with full results visible at 16 weeks.

Under the guidance of Dr. Marc DuPéré, LATISSE® offers a safe and effective way to achieve beautiful, fuller lashes without the need for extensions or mascara. To find out if LATISSE® is right for you, schedule a consultation at VISAGE Clinic today and start your journey to more luscious lashes.

How Can LATISSE Help?

Many people are incapable of growing aesthetically pleasing eyelashes. This condition may result from:

  • Aging
  • Heredity
  • Certain skin and medical issues

Daily application of LATISSE causes the growth of longer, thicker, darker eyelashes.

Enhance your eyelashes with a simple daily application of LATISSE. Request a consultation with Dr. Marc DuPéré or call our office at (416) 929-9800.

How LATISSE Works

LATISSE is a doctor-prescribed medication and is available at Dr. DuPéré’s Visage Clinics. Using the disposable applicator that comes with each dose of LATISSE, you apply the topical medication every night before bed to encourage your natural eyelash growth.

Only apply LATISSE to the base of your upper lashes, not to your lower eyelid. Possible rare side effects include increased brown pigmentation of the skin, hair growth on skin that regularly contacts LATISSE, and itchy or red eyes. Brown discoloration of the irises has not been documented with the proper use of Latisse. It has been documented at very low incidence (4%) when the solution was 10 times more concentrated and applied directly into the eyes for the treatment of glaucoma. Dr. Marc DuPéré and the Visage Clinic team will teach you how to use LATISSE safely.

Many of our patients who are interested in LATISSE can also benefit from prescription-grade skin care products or non-surgical rejuvenation procedures such as dermal fillers or laser treatments.

FAQ’s About LATISSE for Eyelash Growth in Toronto

  • How soon will I see results with LATISSE?

Results from LATISSE typically begin to appear within 8 weeks, with full, dramatic results visible at around 16 weeks. Consistent daily application is key to achieving and maintaining optimal lash growth.

  • Can LATISSE be used on lower eyelashes?

LATISSE is specifically designed for use on the upper eyelashes. Applying it to the lower lashes is not recommended as it may cause unwanted hair growth or other side effects.

  • Are there any side effects associated with LATISSE?

Some users may experience mild side effects such as eye irritation, redness, or darkening of the eyelid skin. These effects are usually temporary and subside with continued use. Dr. Marc DuPéré will discuss any potential side effects during your consultation.

  • What happens if I stop using LATISSE?

If you discontinue the use of LATISSE, your eyelashes will gradually return to their original length and thickness over several weeks to months. Continued use is necessary to maintain the enhanced appearance of your lashes.

  • Can I wear makeup while using LATISSE?

Yes, you can continue to wear makeup while using LATISSE. It is important to apply LATISSE to a clean, makeup-free face before bedtime, allowing the solution to work overnight.

  • Is LATISSE suitable for everyone?

LATISSE is suitable for most adults seeking longer, fuller, and darker eyelashes. However, individuals with certain eye conditions or allergies may not be ideal candidates. Dr. DuPéré will evaluate your medical history and determine if LATISSE is right for you during your consultation.

  • How do I apply LATISSE correctly?

LATISSE should be applied once daily to the base of your upper eyelashes using the provided sterile applicators. One drop of the solution is placed on the applicator and brushed along the lash line. Dr. DuPéré will provide detailed instructions to ensure proper application.

  • Can LATISSE be used in combination with eyelash extensions?

While LATISSE can enhance natural lashes, it is generally not recommended to use it in conjunction with eyelash extensions, as the application process may interfere with the extensions and vice versa.

  • Are the results of LATISSE permanent?

The results of LATISSE are not permanent. Continuous use is required to maintain the desired eyelash length and fullness. If you stop using LATISSE, your lashes will eventually return to their natural state.

  • How is LATISSE different from other eyelash growth products?

LATISSE is the only FDA-approved treatment for enhancing eyelash growth. Its active ingredient, bimatoprost, has been clinically proven to be effective and safe. Dr. Marc DuPéré and the team at VISAGE Clinic ensure that you receive genuine LATISSE and provide professional guidance throughout your treatment.
