At Maison VISAGE, we offer two primary techniques for labial puffing: fillers and fat grafting. Fillers involve the injection of dermal fillers into the labial tissue (cannula technique), while fat grafting involves transferring your body’s own fat to the labia to enhance their appearance and volume.
Labial puffing, when using fillers, is not a surgical procedure. On the other hand, fat grafting technique to labia majora is a relatively minor surgical procedure that is minimally invasive and which can be done under local anesthesia with mild sedation, unless other procedures done concomitantly require a general anesthesia.
Results can vary based on the technique used and individual factors. With fillers, the results are typically temporary and may last on average 6-18 months, depending on the fillers used. Fat grafting tends to provide longer-lasting results, as the transferred fat becomes a part of your body’s tissue.
Downtime is generally minimal for both filler injection and fat grafting techniques. Most patients can resume their regular activities shortly after the procedure. Some temporary swelling or discomfort is normal and usually subsides within a few days. Recovery is slightly longer for the fat grafting as more fat is initially jnjecting, therefore more swelling and temporary bruising, knowing that there will be an average 50% fat resorption over 3-6 weeks.
