Your Guide to Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty at Our Med Spa

May 28th, 2014 Share

One of the newest and most exciting trends in plastic surgery is non-surgical rhinoplasty, a technique we proudly offer at our medical spa in Toronto.  Initially popular with our Asian patients, it is now quite a popular demand from all ethnicities: Caucasian, Middle-Eastern, Afro-American, Latinos, etc.

So this is great news for those who want a ‘nose job’ but are not interested in surgery… or not interested in a surgical rhinoplasty right now!

As a Royal College-certified plastic surgeon based in Toronto, I have been performing the non-surgical rhinoplasty technique since 2006 and have taught doctors all across Canada in BOTOX COSMETIC®/Dysport® and dermal filler techniques.

How Does a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Work?

The non-surgical rhinoplasty is performed using our great fillers and volumizers such JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC, VOLBELLA®, and Restylane.  Nowadays, most people know that the JUVÉDERM, VOLBELLA, VOLUMA®, and Restylane fillers are naturally-occurring sugar molecules found everywhere in the body. JUVÉDERM and Restylane, the oldest and best-known products on the Canadian market, have extensive medical data proving both their efficacy and their high safety track records.

Different techniques have now evolved for the non-surgical rhinoplasty with fillers; using needles and the latest using blunt cannulas, threading, and scaffolding (Misko techniques). The goal with those techniques of non-surgical rhinoplasty is to achieve the following:

  • Augmentation of nasal tip and the nasal bridge
  • Creation of gentle curves into the brow area
  • Lowering of the nostrils and columella
  • Augmentation of the mid-face
  • Narrowing of the nostrils

The most important thing when considering non-surgical rhinoplasty with fillers is to seek an experienced plastic surgeon-injector – and artist – as there are rare yet possible risks to soft tissue when performed by unfamiliar technicians. Knowledge of nasal anatomy and blood vessel architecture is extremely crucial; therefore, a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon is of utmost importance.

Why Choose a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?

As with any procedure, the non-surgical rhinoplasty has limits in its lifting and shape-changing ability and is not as powerful a technique as the surgical rhinoplasty. However, the non-surgical rhinoplasty is a simple in-office procedure with no downtime. The recovery is usually quite simple and easy; mild swelling for a few days and very rarely small bruising.  JUVÉDERM, VOLBELLA, and Restylane will last between 9 and 15 months on average in the nose.

How Much Does Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Cost?

The cost for a non-surgical rhinoplasty varies between $1,000 and $2,500 on average.

It is also very common to use the same JUVÉDERM and Restylane fillers for lip and cheek enhancement, and for a gentle chin augmentation in males or for a more oval and triangular face in our female patients.
