This is a single, very energetic mid fifty year old lady who loves funky hairstyles and who has a youthful mindset. She is a teacher in a private school and interacts with teenagers on a daily basis; her students have guessed her age to be mid sixty which did not make her happy. Her concerns were that her neck was sagging and she had a very obvious “turkey neck” along with heavy jowling. Her eyelids had drooped so the wearing of makeup was problematic on her upper lids and she had heavy fat pads under her lower eyelash line. Her expectations were not to look 25 again, but to look more youthful, more refreshed, more sexy.
After her consultation with Dr. Marc DuPéré, she decided that her best options for now were to have a full neck lift (re-draping) and upper and lower eyelid surgery.
The full neck re-draping involves the lower 1/3 of the face, jawline and neck. Dr. Marc DuPéré performed liposuction to remove the excess fat around the neck, repaired the front neck bands caused by the loose neck muscles, the SMAS (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System) muscle layer of the face was tightened and anchored. The skin was then re-draped over the neck and the excess was removed and meticulously stitched into place, tailored precisely around the ear creases. Dr. Marc DuPéré makes sure that all suture lines are well hidden.
The upper and lower lid surgery involves the removing of the redundant fat pads. Then Dr. Marc DuPéré removes both upper and lower excess skin and the suture lines are hidden in pre-existing creases.
After her surgery, we did comparison photos and the “pictures say a thousand words”. The patient was ecstatic!
