Case Details
This lovely petite woman came to Visage Clinic in Toronto for a consultation with Dr. Marc DuPéré, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. She was not sure what she needed, but knew that she did not like the loose skin on her neck and lower face and the droopy jawline that was giving her a premature older look.
During her consultation, Toronto Dr. Marc DuPéré explained the natural aging the face and neck; the platysma muscles in the neck loosen and start to stretch, separate and hang. This aging becomes very apparent as the stretched platysma muscles drops and the attached skin sags and stretches along with it. This creates the dreaded turkey neck or wattle. Adding to this some excess fat tissue under the chin, the smooth, tight neck and a sharp chin-neck angle can totally disappear.
The patient decided to have a neck re-draping, aka as lower facelift, with Toronto cosmetic plastic surgeon, Dr. Marc DuPéré. The proposed procedure – lower facelift and neck redraping – does the following; it tightens and lifts the platysma muscles back into place and some liposuction is performed for the excess fat around the neck and chin. The plastic surgeon then gently re-drapes, removes and tailors the excess skin around the ear and across the neck and jawline.
Our Toronto Visage Clinic patient was ecstatic with the results of her lower facelift! As you can see, she became more vibrant and looked younger with a contoured jawline and an extremely smooth neck.
