How Can Laser & Light Procedures Help?

Sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle factors including nutrition, alcohol consumption, and smoking can all contribute to facial aging. Our light and laser procedures rejuvenate the skin by correcting conditions such as:

Our Laser & Light Techniques

Our laser and light techniques cause slight inflammation to the dermis lying beneath skin imperfections. This triggers the formation of new collagen, new hyaluronic acid and new elastin, hich consequently tightens and rejuvenates the overlying skin. Collagen and hyaluronic acid also help maintain the skin's hydration — a must for younger, healthier-looking skin. We offer blue light treatments and MicroLaser™ Peel, in addition to the laser techniques outlined below:

Sciton® Erbium Laser System

We use the Erbium laser system for a range of treatments, including skin resurfacing and skin tightening. We're able to remove thinner layers of skin with more precision than the CO2 fractional laser. Erbium lasers are often a better choice for patients with dark skin because there is less risk of permanent changes to skin pigmentation. With a shorter healing time, these treatments are also better for patients with generally healthy skin who wish to treat only minimal fine lines and wrinkles.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

Also known as broadband light (BBL), photofacial, and photorejuvenation, the IPL system exposes the skin to powerful pulses of light, resulting in visible skin improvement. Most patients require multiple IPL sessions and yearly maintenance for optimal results.

ProFractional™ Laser Treatment

Our ProFractional laser rejuvenates the skin by creating tiny holes that penetrate into the underlying dermis. With the ProFractional laser, Dr. DuPéré and his medical esthetician can target various depths with precision and adjust the space between the narrow channels created by the laser. The laser's extreme precision makes it an excellent choice for responding to a range of skin issues, including acne scarring and signs of aging. We can correct deep-seated skin conditions with minimal discomfort and reduced healing time.

Laser Vein Treatment

The advanced laser we use for vascular treatments is the Cynosure® Elite™ Plus, which allows our experienced laser technician to quickly treat vascular lesions without damaging the surrounding skin. The laser energy absorbed by the targeted lesion destroys the blood vessel, and it gradually disappears. The adjustable wavelengths of the Elite Plus laser allows the technician to customize your treatment. We also offer sclerotherapy to correct unsightly spider veins.

Laser Hair Removal

We also use the versatile Elite Plus for popular laser hair removal treatments in both Toronto and Richmond Hill. Because the Elite laser is equipped with 2 wavelength options in a single system, our technician can switch between them during the same procedure, depending on the hair type. The laser targets the hair follicle and destroys it, significantly reducing hair growth. Because hair grows in cycles, multiple treatments are recommended to target follicles during the growth phase.

Combined Treatments

These laser and light treatments can be combined with other procedures such as wrinkle-reducing injections and dermal fillers for enhanced results.

Recovering from Laser & Light Treatments

Patients may experience some temporary redness and swelling after their treatments. These effects should dissipate after a few days. Patients should minimize direct sunlight and avoid other UV light sources such as tanning beds in the weeks following their treatments.

To maintain their results, patients should use medical skincare products and sunscreen on a daily basis.
