Childbirth and menopause can affect elasticity, natural lubrication, and the inner structure of the vagina causing sex to be difficult and painful. diVa™ is a quick, simple dual wavelength fractional laser procedure that rejuvenates the tissues inside the vagina making intercourse more comfortable and enjoyable.
These treatments help correct a range of concerns including:
After the vagina is numbed with a topical anesthetic, Dr. DuPéré and his female nurse insert a disposable dilator. Once the handpiece is inserted into the dilator, it slowly rotates as the laser energy is emitted in quick flashes. One type of laser resurfaces the vaginal wall to encourage the growth of new, healthier tissue. A second type heats the tissues to trigger the production of new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
During these quick treatments, patients typically experience little to no discomfort. Most describe the sensation as slight pressure. No downtime is required; however, we advise patients not to have intercourse for the first 48 hours.
Many patients begin to see improvement after just one session. We recommend 3 treatments, performed a month apart, for optimal results. Learn more about how you can benefit from diVa in the video.
diVaTyte™ is a comfortable, no-downtime treatment Dr. DuPéré and his laser technicians use to improve the appearance of the vulva (outer genitals) in women. Much like SkinTyte™ treatments tighten and firm the skin on the face, neck and body, diVaTyte treatments rejuvenate this very delicate area of a woman's body.
These treatments may be used on the external parts the female genitalia including the inner and outer labia, and the perineum (skin between the vagina and anus).
Dr. DuPéré performs these treatments as a simple office procedure. As the handpiece is slowly smoothed over targeted skin, flashes of therapeutic light are emitted to warm the deeper layers of the skin while the surface is cooled. The light energy activates collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production to gradually tighten and firm the skin.
Treatments typically take between 10 to 20 minutes. Afterwards, patients can immediately resume normal daily activities. Some patients experience mild redness, which quickly subsides. Dr. DuPéré usually recommends anywhere from 3 to 5 treatment sessions.
Sometimes with age or after having children, the labia majora lose firmness and look deflated. In addition to affecting the outer labia's appearance, these changes can cause discomfort during intercourse and activities like biking. Those changes can also affect the labia minora.
Volume enhancement via fillers has become a common procedure here at Visage Clinic. Fillers such as JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® offer temporary results and have no downtime. The newest JUVÉDERM products—VOLBELLA®, VOLIFT®, and VOLUMA®—offer longer-lasting results that may remain up to 18 months.
Another option for volume replacement is fat grafting–collecting fat from another area and injecting it into the labia majora to rejuvenate and plump them up. Dr. DuPéré performs the Coleman’s technique, which consists of gently hand-harvesting fat, quick centrifugation, and meticulous transfer of fat cells to the labia using very fine cannulas. PRP is often added.
This technique does not require any cutting or suturing, and the results last longer than filler injections. It produces youthful, natural-looking results. Additionally, because the fat comes from the patient's own body, there is no risk of an allergic reaction.
PRP vaginal rejuvenation works by using the patient's own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) containing concentrated growth factors to stimulate the production of stem cells and regenerate heathier vaginal tissue. The patient's blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge to separate out the platelets. Dr. DuPéré then injects the PRP into the specified areas. This plasma is rich in growth factors that initiate tissue regeneration and healing. The whole procedure, including processing the blood and injecting the growth factors, takes approximately 45min. PRP is also used in the O-Shot® to increase new sexual satisfaction for women.
