Muscle Enhancing Cosmetic Surgery For Men

Implants and Abdominal Etching Give a Fit and Athletic Appearance

Modern men accept that plastic surgery can be a way to enhance their bodies and improve their attractiveness. Muscle enhancing surgery is a one way to achieve this.

More and more men are recognizing that cosmetic surgery is not for women alone, and are recognizing it as a way of achieving their perfect body shape. They want to look good at the beach, in the gym, and in the bedroom, and despite a good diet and regular fitness regime may be unable to achieve their desired body shape. Implants and abdominal etching are two procedures that can give the required muscled look.

The most requested implants are pectoral implants, calf implants and buttock implants. The buttocks can also be augmented using the patient's own body fat instead of implants. Men requesting implants are frequently fit and in good physical condition but feel that parts of their body are not responding to exercise as well as they would like, and are letting them down. Abdominal sculpting is used to give a washboard abdomen.

Pectoral Implants

Pectoral implants give a bulkier look to men who are flat or pigeon chested and are designed to sculpt the chest area and give definition. They are made of solid silicone, unlike female breast implants, and are inserted under the muscle tissue. They come in a range of sizes and shapes and are designed to last a lifetime. Inserted through small incisions in the underarms, surgery takes one to two hours on an outpatient basis.

Calf Implants

Calf implants, or calf augmentation, give the appearance of larger muscles in the lower leg. Implants come in different sizes and are made of solid silastic which is moderately soft. The implant is inserted through a small incision behind the knee and compression stockings are normally worn for two to three weeks after surgery.

Buttock Implants

Fuller, younger looking buttocks can be achieved with implants. Buttock implants are made of an elastomer and are stronger than breast implants. They are inserted through an incision over the tailbone. An alternative method is fat transfer from the abdomen or thighs into the buttocks, which requires the patient to have fatty deposits that can be used.

Abdominal Etching

Abdominal etching is used to create the look of six-pack or eight-pack muscular abdominals. It combines liposuction, to remove any excess fat, with liposculpture to create subtle ripples by creating scar tissue on the undersurface of the skin. It can leave small scars and a compression garment will need to be worn for several days after surgery.

Plastic surgery can be expensive and there is a risk of complications with any medical procedure. Surgery should never be used as a substitute for exercise and good diet, but is a useful tool for those needing more confidence. Always choose a cosmetic surgeon with qualifications and experience in the procedure you require, and make sure you understand the recovery time required.
