Chin Implants
The implant itself is a relatively soft but flexible solid silicone. Many options are available depending on the anatomy of your own lower face and the degree of facial lengthening and thickness wanted. Men commonly require a wider and thicker implants whereas ladies might require a smaller implant in order to make the lower face more oval, i.e. more feminine. Chin implants will also help disguising the early frown lines (marionette lines) on each side of chin and will also help the early stages of an aging neck. Under either local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, an incision is made either intra-orally or under the chin if a neck procedure is performed at the same time. The implant is placed under the mentalis muscle.
